Rubio is about as Non-Maga as it can get. Trump has betrayed his own base.

Not a Trumper, and wouldn’t ever vote for him, but I am hesitant to condemn his appointments because he has several dangerous waters to navigate . As someone beholden to the Adelson fortune, his consideration of Rubio may be fulfilling a condition that enabled his election. I think Trump knows that Rubio is an ambitious warhawk, but Miriam Adelson’s dead husband invested millions in grooming Rubio to be a young Zionist to vie for the WH.

I think it’s possible that Trump is strategic enough to let Rubio either adopt an agenda that promotes Trump’s priorities or hang himself politically a la John Bolton. This is also a way to subvert the Republican Party efforts to resuscitate its neoconservative core. Everybody believes that Trump is easily manipulated, but I am reminded of the adage: “…Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.”

I want to reiterate, I am not a Trump fan. But his political instincts were proven over the last four years. The Washington careerists have used every legal, extralegal and political resource at their disposal to destroy him, including a vast media. There were two attempts to assassinate him, and the zeal to ruin him will probably pervade his whole impending presidency. I hope that he is less vulnerable than his enemies believe.

Sounds like the ol' Obama: I'm playing 3-D chess argument. Nah. Trump's first appointments are all warmongering warhawks. And most of them are rabid Zionists.
